How to Install an eSIM on iPhone and Android

Installing an eSIM is simpler than most people expect. Here's how to do it on both iPhone and Android.

On iPhone

1. Open Settings → Mobile Data (or Cellular)
2. Tap 'Add eSIM' or 'Add Data Plan'
3. Select 'Use QR Code'
4. Open your TakeFLyt confirmation email on another device (laptop or tablet)
5. Scan the QR code with your iPhone
6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation
7. Label the plan (e.g. 'TakeFLyt Kenya') for easy identification

On Android (Samsung, Google Pixel, etc)

1. Open Settings → Connections → SIM Card Manager
2. Tap 'Add Mobile Plan' or 'Add eSIM'
3. Choose 'Scan carrier QR code'
4. Scan the QR code from your TakeFLyt email
5. Follow prompts to activate

When to activate

Install your eSIM before you travel, but don't switch to it until you land at your destination. This preserves your validity period and avoids burning data before your trip begins.
